The family of Ms. Pat Farrell, a US Air Force (Ret.) Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the service at the church, and the graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Patricia A. Farrell (Pat) of San Antonio, TX passed away on August 18, 2025 at the age of 93.
She was born on March 3, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up. Following graduation from King’s County Hospital School of Nursing, she joined the U.S. Air Force as a First Lieutenant and retired in 1976 as a Lt. Colonel. During her 20-year Air Force career, she served in Japan, Germany (as a Flight Nurse), and Viet Nam (Chief Nurse Casualty Staging Unit), as well as at a number of stateside bases. Following her arrival at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center she developed and taught Genetics courses to physicians and other medical personnel (1972-1976), becoming the only Nurse Geneticist in the Air Force. Among the honors Pat received during her Air Force career are the RVN Armed Forces Honor Medal 1 Class, RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and the Bronze Star.
After retiring from the Air Force, Pat became the Director of Education, Genetic Screening, and Counseling Services (TDMHMR) where she developed and taught Genetics courses to physicians, medical personnel, and members of the public throughout Texas.
In 1978, Pat started her real estate career and obtained her salesperson license and two years later became a broker. With 47 years of experience in this industry, Pat earned several designations (GRI, TRLP, CRS), was licensed to teach real estate courses at the state, local and national levels, has served as Texas State REALTORS Mediator and Ombudsman for the past 25 years, and has held multiple leadership positions at various levels within REALTOR organizations. Pat has also served as Parliamentarian for REALTOR Associations in Texas, Tennessee, and Louisiana. She developed, and was currently teaching, “Meeting Management” courses to local and state REALTOR Associations and to state Networks of Women’s Council of REALTORS. She has also been recognized by the REALTOR community with several honors and awards including (various years) REALTOR Associate of the Year, Lifetime Distinguished Service (from both local and state REALTOR Associations), Omega Tau Rho, and from Women’s Council of REALTORS Member of the Year (local and state) and Entrepreneur of the Year.
For the past 10 years Pat has been lead writer and active photographer for the San Antonio Newsline – her front-page articles and roving presence with camera in hand will be greatly missed!
Pat’s continued participation in her community included maintaining active memberships in the Society of Retired Air Force Nurses, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Alamo Post 2, Disabled American Veterans Post 5, Women Veterans of San Antonio, and San Antonio Coalition of Veterans Families. As a parishioner at St Matthew Catholic Church, she was involved in fund raising activities and active in the Habitat for Humanity program for several years, Catholic Daughters of America, and served as Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan for 20+ years.
Pat is survived by her brothers Timothy (MaryEllen) and John (Judy), and her life partner Judith, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Inspiration Hills Rehabilitation Center for their care, love, compassion, and friendship they showed to Pat during the past 4+ months, particularly during her last 31/2 weeks.

1. Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.
2. Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.
3. Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

Funeral Processions/Escorts
EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession.
At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way. Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.
If you choose to fly a Flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic.
