US MARINE CORPS VETERAN – VIETNAM WAR

The family of Mr. Leroy Garcia Trevino, a US Marine Corps Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services and LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Leroy G Trevino, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at home. He was married for 54 years with his beloved wife, Maria R Trevino. Born and raised lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas, he proudly called home. He was also a cherished brother to his siblings and he deeply valued the bond they shared throughout their lives.

He was a man of unwavering faith, strong values, and deep love for his family. He believed wholeheartedly in hard work, dedication, and above all common sense. If something didn’t make sense, it simply wasn’t worth doing in his eyes. He lived his life sharing wisdom, integrity, and purpose, always leading by example rather than words.

At the young age of 18, he honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, volunteering for two tours in Vietnam until the age of 22. A true Marine, he lived by the motto “Semper Fidelis” – Always Faithful – not only to his country, but to his family, community, and fellow veterans. Even after his military service, He continued giving back through his involvement with the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 366 and VFW post 1533, where community, brotherhood, and service remained close to his heart. He was especially devoted to homeless veterans, providing meals, attending their funerals, holding flags at services, and raising his voice for those who served but had no home, ensuring their sacrifices were honored and remembered.

Faith was at the center of his life. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and a devoted member of the church’s alter society. He found joy in serving others through his faith, often bringing the Body of Christ to parishioners who were homebound, ensuring they felt connected and loved by their church community.

Family was everything to him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. He adored his grandchildren and found joy in every moment spent with them, whether through shared laughter, family vacations, or simply showing up— something he never failed to do.

He had a servant’s heart. Acts of service were his love language. If someone needed help, he was already there. He found happiness in giving, especially when it came to gifts—there was nothing he loved more than watching someone’s face light up as they opened something he had thoughtfully chosen. He cherished making memories, traveling with his family, fishing in peaceful moments, and living life fully and generously.

Above all, He loved his wife, family, community, and the Lord deeply. His faith guided his life, actions, and the way he treated others.

Preceded in death by: his father, Celestino Trevino.

Survived by: his loving wife, Maria R Trevino, his mother, Ana Trevino, siblings Leonard Trevino, Cynthia Vega, and Randall Trevino sons, Andrew L Trevino and James V Trevino, grandchildren, Adriana M Trevino, Sereena A Trevino, and Andrew L Trevino Jr., and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Leroy G Trevino leaves behind a legacy of service, love, faith, and presence. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always cherished by those who were blessed to know him. We find comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with the Lord he so faithfully served. Semper Fidelis
