“EXTREMELY SHORT NOTICE”

US ARMY VETERAN – KOREAN WAR

The family of Mr. Cornelio Pastran, a US Army Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services and LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Cornelio Ernesto Pastran known to all as Kingo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the age of 94 on January 29th, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas to Emmette and Evangelina Pastran. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. He had 5 brothers and 3 sisters; he met and married the love of his life Beatrice Garcia Pastran,

and married her on June 24th, 1952.

He went to Fox Tech High school and at 17 Years old enlisted in the US ARMY in 1949, as a Private Soldier from 1950, to 1951, he fought in the front line in the 24 th Infantry Division of the Korean War where he was wounded in battle by a hand grenade and returned home medically discharged and earned a Purple heart. He was a very proud Veteran having served and fought for his country. He was also very proud of the American Flag and made sure it flew on his front yard every day.

Kingo was a Boxer while in the Army and dearly loved the sport of boxing so much that he introduced it to his sons at a very young age they became very well-known boxers winning countless titles from the Golden Gloves and the Junior Olympics, with his son Richard becoming a professional boxer. Kingo was stern with his boys if they were going to be a champ and win that trophy, title, or belt they had to train so he woke his sons up early every morning and ran with them to Pablos Grove and back no matter what the weather was like. He was extremely proud of his boys, and always at ring side with Billy, Suki, and Richard. Kingo was a true Champ and a true War Hero.

He was a Grand Master Mason at Helotes Lodge and Prospect Hill and dedicated himself as a Proud Honor Guard for the Alzafar Shrine. He performed at countless Alzafar Shrine circuses with his family in the stands and marched in the Fiesta Parades with lots of pride and his wife

Beatrice always at his side supporting her Kingo every second she could. Bay and Kingo were a true love story, and he could not be without his Bay and Bay without her Kingo. Bay was the rock of the family and Kingo the hardworking husband and Father, they built a very loving home on Olga Street.

He was truly blessed with his beautiful 7 Children Mary Alice, Vangie, Ernest, Billy, the late David (Suki), Richard, and Belinda. He had 13 grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren. As Kingo would always jokingly say, did Bay and I do this meaning all the grandkids. He was truly a joker and a bit grumpy as he got older, but he could not be without his kids especially after Bay’s passing, he was very dependent on all his kids.

He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather and loved dancing especially to the Kansas City song. He danced with his daughter Belinda a few months before he left us, and he

danced so gracefully and he was so happy in the videos, Kingo loved his daughters dearly, they were the sparkle to his eye.

His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Longhorns, and the Yankees.
