It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of a great man and former member of the Wednesday Squad. Wayne F. Seldon passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, 24 January 2026, surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with a variety of health issues.
Wayne F. Seldon was born on 8 February 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1973 from Salisbury, Maryland, after earning his GED in 1973. Wayne served honorably as an Army Artillery Gunner, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 77th Field Artillery Regiment, with duty locations including Germany, a remote assignment in Turkey, and Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where he supported the American Forces Network.
After completing his military service, Wayne embarked on a long and respected civilian career as an automotive technician. He worked for Gunn Honda in San Antonio, Texas, for nine years, followed by twenty-two years at Gilliam Honda in Schertz, Texas, where he was known for his skill, dependability, and strong work ethic.

On 1 March 2014, Wayne began his service with the Memorial Services Detachment (MSD) at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery as a member of the Wednesday Squad.
