US ARMY VETERAN – VIETNAM WAR

The family of Mr. Mike Landrove Rea, a US Army Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services and LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Mike Landrove Rea entered the loving arms of Our Lord on January 01, 2025, at the blessed age of 75. Mike was born in San Antonio, Tx on December 09, 1949, to Mike and Esperanza Rea.

Mike dedicated his life to being a mechanic, great husband and provider, wonderful father, and grandfather. He loved Tejano music, drinking Bud light beer, and eating Mexican food. Mike also loved his sweets like cake and Oreo cookies. He loved to wear his Fedora and Vietnam Veteran hats. Snoopy was one of his favorite characters, but most of all he loved his family.

He joined the United States Army and attended Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey in May 1970. Mike traveled to Fort Knox Kentucky to train as an Armored Reconnaissance Specialist. After Graduation, he left for Bad Kissingen, Germany and was assigned to the 2nd Squadron of the 14th Cavalry Regiment also known as the 2/14 ACR. During his stay in Germany, Mike returned to San Antonio to wed Mary I Cortez. He was honorably discharged in January 1972.

Mike will be reunited in heaven with his father Mike, grandparents, along with his brother Ruben and two sisters, Kathy, and Ida.

Mike’s memory will forever live in his wife Mary, daughter Michelle and son-in-law Lance, granddaughter Celeste and her husband Marcelino and his three great grandsons, Joshua, Jace and Brandon. His mother Esperanza, brothers Roger and Richard, sister Cindy and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
