He also was the President of DMAFB Horse Stables. After retirement he went to school to be a professional farrier. He was well known in Tucson for his corrective shoeing (horses)and was often called on by veterinarians to help consult on difficult cases.

He went back to college to become a History Teacher, then furthered his career by becoming an RN. He and his wife were traveling Nurses. They traveled from Alaska to Florida and countless places along the way. Ron had a love of nature and the outdoors and shared that with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Ron loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He is dearly missed by all.
