US ARMY VETERAN – DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM
The family of Mr. Lawrence Barcenas, a US Army Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services and LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Lawrence Bermea Barcenas entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on January 27, 2024, at the age of 66. Lawrence was born on August 18, 1957, to Juan Barcenas and Dolores Bermea in San Antonio, Texas.
Lawrence was a veteran who served in the United States Army. He was very proud of his service during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Lawrence was honorably discharged on May 19, 1991, after serving for 10 years. After his discharge, Lawrence attended VFW meetings and enjoyed sharing stories and experiences with fellow veterans.
Lawrence was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys – he never missed a game and always talked about how the teams were doing with his friends and family. When he wasn’t working at the VA Hospital, he loved to just sit back and watch wrestling and all his favorite TV shows. Despite his love for sports and TV shows, Lawrence’s family was the most important thing to him. Lawrence met Anita Martinez via mutual friends, after pursuing a relationship, the two started going out. They got married and started a beautiful family together. Lawrence cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He made sure to bring them all together for big celebrations, especially during his favorite holiday, Christmas. He always lived life to the fullest and never made a dull moment with loved ones.
Lawrence will be united in heaven with his parents; Juan Barcenas and Dolores Bermea, sisters; Hortencia Barcenas and Mary Ann Esther Barcenas, brother; Jaime Barcenas, grandson; Phillip Vyas.
Lawrence’s memory will forever live in the hearts of his loving wife; Anita Barcenas, his children; Lawrence Barcenas Jr., Arti Vyas (Jose Nieves), Kaupa Steel, Krisha Magdaleno (Christopher), Amar Vyas, Leila N. Garcia, Summer Vyas, Arti Analia Vyas, Lexi Rose Vyas, Xavier Vyas, and Nathan Paredes. Grandchildren; Jose Fabian, Mark Anthony, Raul, Reyna, Alex, Artis, Yana Anita, Jayden, Avery, Even, Armani, Amaya, Lawrence III, Romeo, and Anaya, brothers; Richard Bermea Barcenas, Barbara Bermea Barcenas, Johnny Barcenas, Lewis Barcenas, and Robert Barcenas.
