The family of Mr. Jesus De La Cruz, a US Air Force Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services, and the LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Jesus De La Cruz, 77, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 21,1949, at Fort Sam Houston to Pilar and Celsa De La Cruz, Jesus lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, faith, and a servant’s heart. Raised alongside his twin brother, Thomas, and older brother, John, he and his brothers were actively involved at Immaculate Conception Church, serving as altar boys and volunteering at parish events.
A graduate of Burbank High School, Jesus proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era as a jet engine mechanic. His service included assignments in Taiwan with temporary duty in Vietnam before he was honorably discharged in 1977.
After returning home, Jesus married the love of his life, Yolanda, in February 1981 after meeting through their church functions. Together they raised their family with strong Catholic values and dedicated much of their lives to caring for aging family members and serving their community through church and nursing home volunteer work.
Jesus spent 20 years as a bus operator with VIA Metropolitan Transit, proudly serving the San Antonio community. In retirement, he remained active volunteering at church festivals and became a familiar face at Kenney’s Food Store in his childhood neighborhood, where friends and family always knew they could find him.
Above all, Jesus treasured his family, especially his grandchildren, Dezi and Bella, and great-grandchildren, Elias and Jericho.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pilar and Celsa De La Cruz, and his beloved wife, Yolanda De La Cruz.
He is survived by his sons, Carlos Gutierrez Jr. (Kim), Jason De La Cruz (Diane), and Timothy Moss; his brothers, John De La Cruz (Celia) and Thomas De La Cruz (Susie); his sister, Colleen De La Cruz; his brother-in-law, Daniel Noriega; his grandchildren, Dezirae Gutierrez and Ysabella Tijerina (Mark); and his great-grandchildren, Elias Sanchez and Jericho Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Jesus will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous spirit, and quiet dedication to his family and community. His legacy of love, compassion, and service will live on in all who knew him.

1. Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.
2. Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.
3. Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

Funeral Processions/Escorts
EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession.
At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way. Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.
If you choose to fly a Flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic.
