The family of Mr. Gilbert A. Hernandez Jr, a US Marine Corps. Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services, and the LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Gilbert A Hernandez Jr, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on March 21,2026 at the age of 70, surrounded by his beautiful family. Gilbert A. Hernandez, Jr. was born on October 31, 1955. Gilbert graduated from Thomas Jefferson class of 1974.
He served his Country proudly in the Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged Gilbert returned home to San Antonio and attended St Philip’s College and received his plumbing certification. Gilbert then dedicated his career to the San Antonio River Authority until retirement.
He met and married Beverly, his wife of 24 years and started their family, He was a devoted husband, Dad, and grandfather. Gilbert enjoyed riding his Harley, listening to music, and cherishing his time with his family.
Gilbert battled liver cancer for eight years, yet to those who encountered him, it was never obvious. He maintained an uplifting spirit and embraced new treatment options with enthusiasm.
He is preceded in death by his Father Gilbert Hernandez Sr. His brother Jaime Hernandez and brother-in-law Rosendo Ybarra. He survived by his Wife Beverly Hernandez, daughters Alyssa Hernandez, Mariah Hernandez, Jennifer Rodriguez (Johnny) and son Jeffrey Rodriguez (Erica)
Grandchildren Jayson, Jalyn, Josh, Jonathan, and Mia. His mother Ernestina Hernandez siblings Henry, Linda, Betty (Al) Loretta, John (Elva) Vangie (Yolanda) and Mark (Laura)
The family would like to thank Dr M Beeram at the Start Center for cancer care.

1. Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.
2. Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.
3. Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

Funeral Processions/Escorts
EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession.
At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way. Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.
If you choose to fly a Flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic.
