US ARMY RETIRED VETERAN – AFGHANISTAN & IRAQ
The family of Ms. Debra Eaton, a US Army (Ret.) Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services, and the LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Ms. Debra Eaton was born on May 23, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, and entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2025, at the age of 70.
A woman of unwavering faith, strength, and dedication, Ms. Eaton lived a life of service to both her country and her community. She proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and retired from the United States Army after 28 years of honorable and distinguished service. During her military career, she served with the U.S. Army Medical Command at home and abroad, and later continued her service on the Honor Guard at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery for nearly five years—honoring fellow service members with dignity and respect.
Beyond her military career, Ms. Eaton pursued education and professional growth. She obtained her real estate license and worked as a realtor, continuing to serve others through her knowledge and dedication. She also served her local community as a member of the Judson School Board.
Her love for fellowship and service extended into many organizations. She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the Order of the Eastern Star, and was an active and devoted member of Liberty Grace Church, where she served faithfully as a Deaconess.
Family was the joy of Ms. Eaton’s life. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Marshelle Barkster, and son-in-law, Michael Barkster; five treasured grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as “Nana;” her brothers, Tommy Hanner, and Al Hanner (Anita); her sister, Oralee Wells; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Ms. Debra Eaton will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; a woman of faith and service; and a proud veteran who lived her life with honor, courage, and love.
