US NAVY VETERAN

The family of Mr. Benito H. Carabajal IV, a US Navy Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard Riders at the graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.

Reverend Benito H. Carabajal IV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 52. Ben was born to Benito R. Carabajal III and Rosa Linda Hernandez on November 6, 1971, in Rocksprings, Texas.

Ben, first and foremost, was a God-fearing man. He was a bright and loving person. Ben’s love was big and unconditional. His light and love always extended beyond his family and friends. He was never afraid to spread the gospel to strangers and give them hope through God. Ben lived and loved to serve the Lord. Ben served his country for 20 years. He was a 20-year Retired United States Navy Veteran. Throughout his military career, Ben exemplified courage, integrity, and selflessness, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow service members. His commitment to service took him to various parts of the world, where he served with distinction and honor. It is through serving his country, he made the ultimate sacrifice. A sacrifice that he would never be ashamed of. Ben is a hero to his country, his family, and to all those around him. Ben’s spirit and smile could light up a room and brighten anyone’s mood. He loved to make other’s laugh by sharing one of his endless stories. Ben could never say no and was always willing to help others in time of need. You could always rely on Ben.

Ben married the love of his life, Ninfa Carabajal, on March 11, 1995. Ben always said that after the Lord, he loved Ninfa the most. They had been married for 29-years ongoing. Ben and Ninfa have three children together that are loved beyond words. He was a devoted husband to his soulmate, Ninfa Carabajal, and a loving father to his children, Benito C. Carabajal V, Victoria F. Carabajal, Nathanael C. Carabajal, & daughterin- law, Andrea Carabajal. Ben is also survived by his father – Benito R. Carabajal III and his siblings – Norma Carabajal, Manuel Carabajal, Velma Richardson, Irene Whipkey, and Angel Barrientos. Ben is preceded in death by his mother – Rosa Linda Hernandez. Benito will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his commitment to the Lord, and his deep love for his family. He leaves behind 52 years of memories that will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Carabajal IV A Viewing was held at Nelson Funeral Chapel, Camp Wood on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 10a.m. to 8p.m. Funeral service for Ben was held at 11am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Barksdale Baptist Church, Barksdale, Texas. Officiants, Pastor Joe Ruiz and Pastor Robert Saenz. Ben’s wishes were for cremation after service with interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Pallbearers included Benito C. Carabajal V, Nathanael Carabajal, Manuel Carabajal, Andres Carabajal, Tommy Van Winkle, Estevan Guajardo, and Jeremy Whipkey. A committal service will be held at 11:15a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, TX 78209.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.

2. Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

3. Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!

4. Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Show our respect to ALL who are in attendance.

5. If riding/driving a motorcycle on Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, which is located within a Military Installation, you will need to wear closed toe shoes, long sleeve shirt, gloves, DOT approved helmet, eye protection, long pants, and boots/shoes that cover the ankle.

Funeral Processions/Escorts
EVERY RIDER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety at all times while riding in a funeral procession.

At NO TIME are any riders authorized to block any intersection or otherwise block or impede traffic laws in any way.  Only Law Enforcement officials are authorized to block and/or impeded the lawful flow of traffic.

If you choose to fly a flag on your bike you are SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for ensuring it is secured and not a danger to any other rider or traffic.
