US AIR FORCE VETERAN
The family of Mr. Anthony C. Murphy, a US Air Force Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services, and the LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Anthony C. Murphy went to be with the lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. His passing leaves a profound void in our hearts as he was a beloved father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Anthony, best known as “Tony”, was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on June 15, 1955, to Neil R. Murphy and Marie T. Murphy. He is preceded in death by his parents, his late wife Mary Lou Murphy of 35 years, and his brothers Stephen, David, and Dennis Murphy.
Coming of age, Tony had a love for our country which guided him to serve in the Air Force, where he held the rank of Sergeant, becoming a well-executed fuel specialist. His loyalty to the military was an honor to be deeply admired by those who knew him. His next turning point steered him to a 33 year-long career working for Werner Enterprises as a professional truck driver. His hard work and will-power for greatness motivated him towards earning the extreme achievement and being recognized as a three million miler accident-free driver who traveled across the United States. The sacrifice of his long timeless days and nights was overcome by his compassion to fulfill the needs of countless families across our country. Upholding the highest standards committed to safety and service, it was the hardest yet most selfless vital role he provided and succeeded in.
Tony lived a life guided by strong values, powerful character, and devotion to those he loved. A true soul of strength, wisdom, generosity, and humor. He took pride in his family and found joy in hobbies like watching nature, caring for homeless animals, and fishing. Above all Tony was a devoted father. He is survived by his children: Jennifer A. Murphy-Rodriguez, Jason N. Murphy, and Jessica Arriaga; his stepchildren: James Goyette, Sherry Goyette, Anthony Goyette, Christine Castillo, Jannie Castillo, & Clifford Goyette Jr; his sisters: Kathleen Murphy, Mary Asher, Eileen Murphy, Colleen Rowland, and Cecilia Temple; his brothers: Neil A. Murphy and Robert Murphy; as well as grandchildren he adored. Our dearest Tony will be greatly missed, an inspirational role model and hero never to be forgotten.
His memory will remain a guiding light in the hearts of those who loved him, to be cherished now and forever.
