The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to stand and honor Dr. Robert Buchanan for interment services on Friday (Jan 22), at 1:00pm. Robert is a Army Air Corps Veteran who served in WWII, where he served under Patton, and participated in several campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge and the Beaches of Normandy. He was also wounded in Belgium, becoming a Prisoner Of War for a short period of time, and received several medals including a Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. Side note: being proud of his Scotish heritage, he played the bagpipes for numerous funerals of KIAs, Veterans, First Responders and Law Enforcement over the last 45 years. This mission will begin with staging with the LEO escort that will be meeting the funeral procession as it comes in to San Antonio, then moving on to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for interment services with military honors, where the Patriot Guard will establish a flag line for the service. If available, please try to attend to honor one of our Veterans and help support the family during their time of loss. Thank you.
