The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family and the Air Force to stand and honor Staff Sergeant Michael Cinco on Wednesday (Jan 06). SSgt. Cinco was killed in action while supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel, of wounds suffered when his patrol was attacked by a suicide bomber on a motorcycle near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, while assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, 11th Field Investigations Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas.

This mission will begin with escort of SSgt. Cinco from Schertz Funeral Home to Randolph Air Force Base (departing around 10:30am) for funeral services at Chapel 1, at 1:00pm, where the Patriot Guard will establish a flag line prior to the service. After which, the Patriot Guard will escort SSgt. Cinco back to Schertz Funeral Home, as there will be no interment services. If available, please try to attend to honor one of our Fallen Heroes and help support the family during their time of loss. Thank you.

Please note, there will be some downtime between arrival of the Patriot Guard at Randolph Air Force Base and the funeral service, which is to accommodate staging and entry into Randolph Air Force base with security forces. As such, the Patriot Guard will move on to Randolph Air Force base as one group and depart as one group; no exceptions. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this timeline and request.
