The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to stand and honor, and assist with recovery escort for Staff Sergeant Michael Cinco on Monday (Jan 04). SSgt. Cinco was killed in action while supporting Operation Freedom's Sentinel, of wounds suffered when his patrol was attacked by a suicide bomber on a motorcycle near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, while assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, 11th Field Investigations Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. This escort will begin with departure from Schertz Funeral Home around 7:30am, processing to Randolph Air Force Base for incoming flight of SSgt. Cinco at 9:00am, then returning in procession back to Schertz Funeral Home. If available, please try to attend to honor one of our Fallen Heroes and help support the family during their time of loss. Thank you.

Please note, there will be some downtime between arrival of the Patriot Guard at Randolph Air Force Base and flight arrival, which is to accommodate staging and entry into Randolph Air Force base with security forces. As such, the Patriot Guard will move on to Randolph Air Force base as one group and depart as one group; no exceptions. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this timeline and request.
