**SHORT NOTICE**

TWO PART MISSION REQUEST

Team Red, White and Blue, San Antonio Chapter, has requested the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard Riders in a LEO supported escort of "Old Glory Relay 2017".

This year the teams are charged with moving a single American flag across our great nation. At sunrise on September 11, participants began to cover 4,216 miles beginning in Seattle, Washington and will be ending on Veterans Day in Tampa, Florida. Throughout this cross-country journey, Eagles, Patriots, and Communities will connect to support our runners, walkers and cyclists as they raise awareness and generate funding to enrich the lives of the veterans we serve.

PART 1

Team Red, White & Blue San Antonio will begin its portion of this journey at sunrise on Wednesday, October 18. Each runner/cyclist will bring Old Glory one step closer to her final destination. Old Glory will arrive at VFW Post 76, near downtown at approximately 5 pm on Wednesday and will be walked/escorted to The Alamo where she will be furled for the night.

Participants are invited back to the VFW for dinner.

BRIEFING: 1645 Hours (SEMPER GUMBY)

MISSION: When "Old Glory" departs VFW Post 76, approximately 1700 Hours, the SA PGR will FOLLOW/JOIN, with LEO Support, A Korean War Veteran carrying Old Glory up 10th Street, across Broadway, turning Right on N Alamo, continue on N Alamo until he gets to Alamo Plaza, going through several stoplight intersections and terminating at the Alamo, where the PGR will provide a receiving flag line.

*NO VEHICLES WILL BE DRIVEN ONTO THE ALAMO PROPERTY*

Bear County SO will provide LEO support from County line through to The Alamo

BRIEFING: 0715 Hours

MISSION: Upon completion of the Reville ceremony, "Old Glory" departs The Alamo to continue her journey east with runners/cyclists. The PGR will escort Old Glory/Runners/Cyclists to the City Limits (same as last year) with LEO support, time permitting.

Bexar County SO will provide escort from The Alamo to the County Line.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.

2. Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

3. Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE! NO LITTERING, INCLUDES CIGARETTE BUTTS!!
