This is a two part mission partnered with AUSTIN PGR, we will handle PART 1 receiving and procession to the funeral home in San Marcos, the AUSTIN PGR will conduct PART 2.

(ADD RECOVERY)

PART 1: The family of Sergeant Phillip Cruz-Medellin, an active duty US Army service member requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the plane side honors and the LEO assisted procession to Los Angeles Funeral Home in San Marcos.

PART 2: The Austin PGR has been requested to participate in the services, procession and graveside military honors at the San Juan Cemetery in Reedville.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated and unless under special circumstances not allowed in processions. You do not have to have a motorcycle to participate in honoring our veterans.
Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family. NO TALKING, SMOKING, CHEWING OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS, OR CELL PHONE USE IN THE FLAG LINE!
Cemeteries are hallowed ground. Please keep radios off and engine noise to a minimum. Observe the 15 MPH speed limit. Show our respect to ALL who are in attendance, not just the veteran we are honoring.

PART 2 Austin PGR

ROSARY: Sunday evening 11/27, 7 pm rosary at St John’s Catholic Church in
San Marcos. AUSTIN PGR will not participate in this event.

Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and burial service for Spc. Phillip Cruz-Medellin. Spc Cruz-Medellin passed away while stationed at Ft Riley, KS. https://www.armyt...fort-riley

He is being returned to central Texas on Wednesday, 11/23, to the San Antonio Intl Airport, flight arrival scheduled for 2:40 pm. A procession will leave there and go to the funeral home in San Marcos. See the San Antonio PGR confirmed mission thread at http://www.auspgr.org for details on this portion.

Date/Time: Monday, 28 November 2016. Funeral service scheduled for 10 am, with burial to follow.

Location: St John's Catholic Church, 624 E Hopkins St, San Marcos, TX 78666. We will stage at the church.

Wx: Hi 72 deg, partly cloudy

Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. At the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and prepare to join the law enforcement escorted procession immediately following the funeral mass to the San Juan Cemetery in Reedville, TX, about a 10 minute ride. We will form a second flag line there for the burial service.
