US NAVY VETERAN – VIETNAM ERA
The family of Mr. Kenneth W. Page, a US Navy Veteran, requests the presence and participation of the San Antonio Patriot Guard at the services, and the LEO supported procession, and graveside rendering of military honors of their loved one. We are honored to accept this invitation.
Kenneth Wayne Page, known affectionately as Ken to his family and friends, embarked on his final adventure on June 8, 2025, in San Antonio, TX. Born on September 18, 1954, in Flagstaff, AZ, Ken lived a life that was as grand as the national parks he loved to explore. He charted his course through life with the same precision and joy he used to track down geographical markers across the country.
Ken’s early years in the Navy as a signalman and proud plank owner on the USS Moinester saw him communicating with other ships out at sea, a skill he would later adapt to expertly navigating the chaos of family gatherings. He always had the right signal for every situation, whether it was a ‘Hook Em Horns’ for his favorite college team or a wink to signal that mischief was soon to follow.
After serving his country, Ken set his sights on the home front, where he became the beloved coach of many a little league team. His players remember him not just for his strategic plays but for his uncanny ability to make everyone laugh, even in the face of a striking out. It was this sense of humor that made him the heart and soul of every game.
Ken and Jean were a dynamic duo of adventure, traveling to national parks, monuments, battlefields, and historical sites. They were on a quest to collect as many junior ranger badges as they could, a testament to their never-ending curiosity and zest for life. Ken’s RV trips became a vessel of discovery for his grandchildren Alyndra, Zoe, Makenzie, and Charlotte, who will always cherish the memories of their grand expeditions with him.
Surrounded by his family, Ken was the king of his castle and the prankster of the group. His love for a good joke was as boundless as the parks he roamed. Reflecting on Ken’s humor, one is reminded of the words of the great Robin Williams: “You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.” Ken certainly never lost his spark.
Ken leaves behind a loving family: his wife Jean, his children Chelsea, Amber, and Chris, Josh, Susanna, and Mischi, his children in-law Marissa, Jody and Lindsey, his grandchildren Aly, Zoe, Kenzie, Charlotte and Sammie, his father Frank, and his brothers David and Wayne. He now joins his beloved mother Mary, who preceded him in laughter and in life.
His life was a treasure map of joyous moments, and though he has set sail for the great beyond, the echoes of his laughter will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him. Ken’s legacy is not simply in the stories he told but in the life he led—a life of love, adventure, and, above all, laughter. Sail on, Ken, and may the wind always be at your back.
